Instructions

Step 1

Writing articles for eHow is definitely one way to earn some extra money. But for those of us that can't think of 2-3 really good topics a day chances are we are not going to be able to earn any real amount of money.

Step 2

There are lots of other ways you can start working on to get money flowing into your checking account. One way to do this is to buy some kits from walmart or a craft store for making jewelry like bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. You can usually find a decent jewelry kit for about 4$ a pack. These are fairly easy to put together and can be sold on web sites like etsy.com, shopehomemade.com, craftmall.com and many others for up to 15$ a piece...that is not to shabby!! 4$ for the kit, a couple hours of work, sell it for triple at least!

Step 3

Even if you have never sewn before this is also another way you can earn some money. It might seem a little daunting to sew something at first but all it takes is a little practice and you will soon be making costumes, quilts, baby clothes, and many other items that are great sellers at the above listed web sites. If you don't have a sewing machine make sure you check local consignment stores, online listings, and classifieds before going out and spending full cost for a new machine. Start off with an easy, simple pattern to practice with and don't worry about how cute or matching the fabric is just buy whatever is on sell. Your first few items will more then likely not come out right so don't stress too much. Sewing is a wonderful skill that can quickly increase your monthly income in a short time as long as you practice.

Step 4

Another craft that can be turned into money is knitting and crocheting. Scarfs, blankets, sweaters, baby towels, booties, hats, mittens, gloves, all these items are great sellers online and very cheap to get started on. There are several web sites that give step by step instructions (including ehow I am sure) on how to knit or crochet items.

Step 5

The more you practice and the more time you put into making items the more you will have for sell. The wonderful thing about all three of these crafts is that you can do them while watching tv, talking on the phone, watching a movie with your kids, and the work flows quickly. Before you know it you will be up to your ears in things worth selling and making more and more money a month the better you get at each skill.

Step 6

Once you have gotten a feel for a craft that you feel is the most enjoyable for you to do increase the difficulty of patterns that you are making. The harder it looks to make, the more complex it seems, the more you can sell it for.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that you spend as little money as possible on supplies when you are first starting a new type of craft. There is no sense in spending hundreds of dollars on knitting supplies just to find out you hate knitting!
  • Be sure that you enjoy what you are doing. If you love fairies, consider making fairy costumes (huge seller!!) If you love babies, make baby clothes. If you love jewelry....I think you get the picture!
