Industrial ratchet straps are necessary when hauling or towing anything that's excessively large or heavy. If these items aren't properly secured they can fall onto the road or freeway causing damage to other people's property or to the people themselves.

Instructions

  • Step 1
  • Secure a motorcycle on a pickup truck or flat bed trailer utilizing industrial ratchet straps. Use six ratchet straps to tie down the motorcycle. Put four straps on the front end and two on the back, making sure that the straps are hooked on the frame of the motorcycle to prevent damage to it.

  • Step 2
  • Keep heavy furniture on your trailer or in a pickup truck by tossing the ratchet strap over the furniture then hooking the strap to the anchor points. Pull until the slack is gone. Pump the handle on the ratchet strap until it is tight.

  • Step 3
  • Tie down your car to a trailer when you are towing it. At least two of the tie downs should be industrial ratchet straps. That way if the trailer jackknifes your car will be secure.

  • Step 4
  • Haul a tractor by securing it in each corner with industrial ratchet straps. Make sure that the straps are rated according to the weight of the tractor. If the tractor has a bucket make sure to put a ratchet strap across it as well.

  • Step 5
  • Tow a boat using industrial ratchet straps. Secure the boat to the trailer with the ratchet straps. One should be from the trailer to the stern eyes. The other should go from the rear of the trailer to the bow eye so that the boat doesn't shift forward.
